2009 | PERSONAL PROJECT, INSTALLATION.
A crossbreed between the aesthetics of tectonics and hyper-artificiality.
The installation was developed for the MilesKm project, an initiative to to promote collaboration between Spanish and British Artists. We shared a common interest in the performative nature of materials. We were fascinated by the textures and colors created with backlit polyurethane foam, most commonly used as a cheap construction insulator.
These pieces emitted sound and colored light which was reflected on a thin layer of foil with flew over the whole installation. It was situated in the cold basement of a derelict tobacco factory.
